Vintage Benin Bronze Style Lion Candle Holder

This absolutely CHARMING pair of candle holders is based on Benin bronze figures, I believe, but I feel they’re not bronze but some kind of cast “pot metal.” Please take a close look at the photos & use your own best judgment.  The larger lion (?) is missing one foot & there’s a bit of candle wax residue but otherwise, this pair is in good vintage condition overall.  The larger piece measures about 6” long x 3.5” tall and the lioness measures about 4.5 x 2.75 inches.  Please note that you’d need candles with fairly fat bases if you’re going to use these as candle holders—or just enjoy them, as I have, as delightful objects!  I hope you love them as much as I do.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen another pair like them.  Please take a close look at the photos.
