Padre Pio Mass Altar Silver Candle Holder

Up for this auction are truly one of a kind item. It is a beautiful lot of 2 matching Altar Mass heavy silver/brass candle holders that was the personal belongings of Father Alessio Parente. This extraordinary item was given by Father Alessio Parente, care taker and personal friend of Padre Pio from 1960 to 1968. This remarkable lot of 2 are old but remain in fantastic condition. Father would have these with him when he traveled and used them on the Altar when saying Mass. He would sometimes say Mass in Church Halls and conference centers and churches to spread devotion to Padre Pio and he felt it was more significance to have with him items of the saint to draw people closer. These were used on the Altar at times during masses with Padre Pio. In some photos in books of Padre Pio you can see one of them from my research. We say silver because of the silver color but when turned over it seems to be brass, so I am not sure. They were cherished and cared for, for many years. There are some signed of wear as you can see in the photos, please review them all. A cut of some sort on one of the bases. It might also be just old melted wax, not sure we like to leave these items in the original condition we received them. They each measure 8 1/4" x 4 1/2" x 4 1/2". We have only these that Fr. Alessio owned and gave to my mom because she hosted many events for him and he stayed at our home on many occasions. We have decided to offer it to the public for future devotion and adoration.
