These are very thick glass. When the ring is removed, is says pat pending. Some of the bases have tiny chips that are felt, not so much seen. There is one that I can not remove the metal ring from. Some of the glass screw tips are chipped but doesn’t affect the two pieces of glass from being connected. Some of the glass pieces have cracks in the glass, about an inch long, but it does not go through the glass, and can not be felt. Each one weighs 2.5 lbs.
