This is a small cut glass piece by Chicago Mdse Philadelphia Pa. It is stamped. The edges on the cut are very pointy so it does feel cut rather than pressed. It is beautiful most definitely. It appears to be created to look like a little pineapple. It is open on the top (the scalloped edge side) and the bottom (the smooth round side), so you could certainly use it with either side up. The top side up reminds me of a toothpick holder. When you flip it the other way though it is a nice size to hold a tealight or votive candle. Love things that are more than one thing. LOL. This is really pretty though. Catches light wonderfully and has good weight to it. My guess is it is circa 1940's 1950's. Chicago Mdse was affiliated (I think based on quick research) with Chicago Mdse Mart which was Marshall Fields or JM Fields stores which I remember from my youth that no longer are around. So, that can explain them possibly having a manufacturing center in Philadelphia too? I know there were lots of glassworks places in South Jersey and Philadelphia from way, way back. Anyway, It is American made cut glass mid-century and shaped like a pineapple to boot. I did note a little rough spot on the inner rim of the round opening. It doesn't feel like a chip really, but it is a little rough on the edge in 2 tiny places. I did picture them above, just so you could see. Nothing big or serious as imperfections go, but even little rough things or flea bites I try to let folks know ahead of time. :) This little guy measures about 3.5" tall. He's a beauty.
