The glass votives are pre-owned but were never actually used. Counts down the days left in December until Christmas! Can also be used for any highly anticipated occasion: countdown the days until a much needed vacation, until you get your degree, until your loved one is released from prison, etc.
The lights did not come with these holders originally, they have been slightly used but all still work. They are operated by 3 volt button batteries and should last until Christmas or even longer... in fact I have been amazed at how long they last! You could of course use tealight candles in these if you wish but the flameless lights I feel are a much better option. They flicker and emit a warm glow like actual lit candles but without the fire hazard! So when your cat knocks one off the mantle your house doesn't burn down and that's a very nice feature.
