This is a tall unusual solid brass vintage mid century modern candleholder. It is 14 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide. The top has a hole for a standard taper candle but it has four prongs which could also hold a votive candle jar. Others have attributed this piece to Pierre Forssell, Swedish silversmith and designer (1925-2004) who worked as a designer for Skultuna Messingbruk, Sweden, from 1955 to 1986. I contacted the company to verify he was the designer but haven't heard back yet, presumably because it is summer vacation time in Sweden. It is unsigned and i am basing this attribution on others for sale on the internet. Skultuna is a 400 year old brassworks purveyor to the royal court of Sweden, having been founded by King Karl IX in 1607 and is one of the oldest companies in the world. Their products are exquisitely crafted. Other candlestick like this are selling on the internet for $250.
